Fans have been waiting for the 2006 vintage of the "San Remo" Sangiovese and "The Duke" Zinfandel blend ever since the 2005's sold out months ago. Well the long wait is finally over! Join us Saturday, March 31st from noon to 4:00 for the new release of our two most popular reds.
For the 2006 vintage, the San Remo is a blend of fruit from Red Moutain's Ciel du Cheval Vineyard and Candy Mountain Vineyard. The wine is bright and floral with ripe cherry and raspberry flavors and crisp acids that make it another ideal food wine. The Duke is a wild blend of Zinfandel, Petit Sirah, Lemberger, Merlot and Syrah that makes it the proverbial "fruit bomb" and a great summer red.
We are also hoping to be releasing our new wine, "Menina Flor" a blend of 65% Viognier and 35% Roussanne. The nose is lush and tropical, the flavors are ripe with apple and pear and it finishes with a refreshing bite. We're in crunch time with getting the labels finished and the wine in bottle, but if all goes well we'll be kicking off the summer with a nice new white. Keep your fingeres crossed!
Whether or not Menina Flor is ready, the party will go on with everything you've come to expect from a Des Voigne Cellars party; good wine, good food and good times!
